At dawn Mila arrived at the parking lot hosting the carnival. She entered the midway. As the detective walked near a ride she looked at its colored lights. They matched the one she found at the crime scene. A man wearing greasy overalls with the name Mike embroidered on it scooted out from under the ride. While Mila showed the man her badge she noticed a small piece of brick from the jewelry store wedged between bolts on the one of the ride's metal beams. She told Mike he could tell her everything he knew about the robbery there or downtown.

"Do you like sports?" Mike asked.
